Good meaning, nothing against it in the sources
The French Wikipedia says the origin is uncertain: some derive Anaïs from Anne (Hannah, 'grace') through Occitan and Catalan, others from Anahita, the Iranian goddess of love, or Anahit, the Armenian goddess of birth and beauty. Most families see only a form of Anne, so it is kept neutral. Low confidence: a scholar's call.
