In the Qur'an's light verse (24:35) the glass is 'like a shining star', kawkabun durriyyun. The Egyptian feminist, poet and editor Doria Shafik (1908-1975), Durriyya Shafiq in Arabic, was a leader of Egypt's women's movement in the 1940s and 1950s.
