Name of an angel given to girls: scholars differ
Scholars differ. Qur'an 43:19 criticises those who made the angels female, so some call the name for a girl disliked or even forbidden (Ibn Uthaymeen, Bakr Abu Zayd, al-Barrak). Others say it is not forbidden but less preferred (an IslamQA.org answer), and it is common among Arabs.
