A name the Prophet advised against (bad omen)
Nafi' is in the first narration of Muslim 2136 (the list in 2137 leaves it out). The Prophet told people not to give servants this name, because asking 'is he here?' and hearing 'no' sounds like a bad omen. Commentators call it disliked, not forbidden, and note that he left his own servants Rabah and Yasar so named.
