A divine name used on its own: scholars differ
A Hanafi fatwa, a South African mufti and a US imams' Q&A site all say Rahman alone is not for people and should be Abd al-Rahman. None that allows it was found, yet Rahman is widely used as a name or surname in South Asia. The naming rules file it as disliked and disputed; a scholar should decide whether it is forbidden like al-Rahman.
Confidence: low
