Islam Q&A says most scholars call names that add a word to al-Din (Nur al-Din is its example) disliked and a few forbid them, as an exaggeration; Imam al-Nawawi disliked being called Muhyi al-Din. Salah al-Din follows the same pattern but is in wide use, so it is flagged, not hidden.
